Job Title: Teaching assistant/Clinical tutor

Job Purpose
​Support to the lecturer in managing practical sessions for undergraduate pharmacy students in the subjects of medicinal chemistry

Main accountabilities & expectations


Practical session management
Prepare materials, chemicals and glassware required for each practical session as per a checklist prepared by the lecturer.
Assist the lecturer in calibrating laboratory equipments and perform regular checks on chemicals, glassware and materials and identify and report shortage.
Perform the required practical session prior to the lab in order to verify model answers for problems, experimental results and/or the properties of the required pharmaceutical preparation.
Attend the students the practical session at all time.
Assist the course instructor and or lecturer in grading exams, assisting students, overseeing laboratory activities, or monitoring study group activities and interactions.
Assist researchers in the department in carrying out experimental research work.
Carry out any other task related to the course/college assigned to him/her by the course instructor and/or head of department apart from practical sessions.

Job Purpose
​A weekend / evening shift position. The appointed staff will be responsible of providing essential services to the library users. He /She will contribute to the library operations during evening shifts, Doing the assigned work, perform Book circulation, keep the library quiet, Monitor computers, collect  statistics and shelve library materials.

Main accountabilities & expectations
Maintaining services to the library users during evening shifts.
Perform circulation operations, issuing book for users as per circulation policy.
Carrying out essential daily library work.
Provide basic assistance to library users, answering their inquiries related to the use of online Catalog, summon, specialized electronic resources, etc.
Helping students in using library equipment and self-circulation machine.
Monitor the library computers, printers, scanners and photocopiers. Ensure that they are functioning properly.
Monitoring the use of the photocopier, and ensure adherence to the copyright law.
Stay alert, on incoming and outgoing users.
Assist in keeping the library quiet and orderly. Reports any misbehavior as per the library policy.
Perform clerical duties such as typing, filing or data entry as assigned by library supervisor.
Assist in shelving library materials, shelf reading and stacks maintenance.
Collecting statistics on library operation services and number of users visiting the library during the evening shifts.
Registering library books and periodicals, in addition to any additional responsibilities assigned by the library supervisor.
